UVA Faculty Spouses & Partners
The UVA Dual Career Program supports UVA faculty recruitment and retention
We assist prospective and current UVA faculty spouses and partners by supporting their efforts to build careers and make connections in the Charlottesville area.
- Spouses and Partners of Prospective and Newly Hired Faculty Members
-
The Dual Career Program (DCP) works with spouses and partners of UVA faculty applicants who are seeking salaried, full-time roles, beginning with the invitation to Grounds for the faculty interview. We offer confidentiality to individuals who seek an initial dual career consultation early in the application process and will not disclose your request to the faculty department without your consent.
We continue to provide services throughout the faculty application process, onboarding, and the transition to the Charlottesville community. DCP Services are provided for up to one year after relocation by the faculty spouse or partner.
- Spouses and Partners of Current Faculty Members (Hired more than 1 year ago)
-
The DCP serves as a resource to UVA departments that are seeking to retain faculty members. We work in consultation with the faculty member’s department chair and dean’s office to customize services to support faculty spouses and partners.
Requests for DCP services associated with a retention matter must be initiated by a UVA department chair, dean’s office, or hiring authority. Faculty members should consult with their department chair to initiate a request for services.
