We assist prospective and current UVA faculty spouses and partners by supporting their efforts to build careers and make connections in the Charlottesville area.

Spouses and Partners of Prospective Faculty Members

Prospective UVA faculty member is a faculty candidate for a full-time, benefited position

We work with spouses and partners of UVA faculty applicants, beginning with the invitation to Grounds for the faculty interview. We offer confidentiality to individuals who seek an initial dual career consultation early in the application process and will not disclose your request to the faculty department without your consent.

We continue to provide services throughout the faculty application process, onboarding, and the transition to the Charlottesville community. We recognize that some spouses and partners are eager to find work immediately and others prefer to have time to settle in before commencing a search.

Spouses and Partners of Current Faculty Members

Current Faculty member is a full-time, benefited faculty member

The Dual Career Program offers services to the spouses and partners of current, benefited faculty in conjunction with our ongoing efforts to retain faculty. We work in consultation with the faculty member’s department chair and Dean’s Office to customize services to support faculty spouses and partners.
